If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I booked an incredibly last-minute holiday. Usually I’m very much a forward planner but that didn’t happen this time, I really needed a break I haven’t been on holiday for two years and after everything I’ve been through I just needed to get away. I booked the holiday on Sunday 24thJune and we flew out on Wednesday 27thJune so as you can imagine I was running around like a crazy person to get things bought, packed and sorted.  (more…)

Realities of a Single Parent | Over-Compensating


This post has been a long time coming, I’ve written, re-written and deleted numerous posts on this subject purely because I was afraid to publicise the fact that I am a single parent. But why should I be embarrassed? There are thousands of parents that single handedly raise their child/children and as much as it is still a taboo in some cultures I’ve decided that it isn’t something I’m embarrassed or ashamed about, in fact it is something I should embrace on a daily basis. Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ Foundation | Review

I have stayed true to my holy grail foundation for the last three years but lately I feel like I’ve built a love/hate relationship with it. I think that was a sign that I needed to try something different. Just over a year ago a Make Up For Ever counter opened in my local Debenhams store and I’ve walked past it numerous times without even stopping to look at its products. But having heard such great things about the brand I decided to stop and venture. I clearly didn’t leave empty handed! (more…)
