I’ve wanted a good quality structured bag for quite a while, one that would be big enough for all my ‘essentials’ as well as one that’s going to last a long time. If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I made my first Michael Kors purchase (eek).
I’ve struggled to narrow my MK bag wish list down, there are three that I have liked for so long and even till the last minute I was being super indecisive it’s a good job I had my lovely friend with me to help me make the right choice (thanks Leanne). I decided to go with the one I spotted in the distance on an afternoon browse in House of Fraser, it was a definite love at first sight moment.
Although this purchase was made with some birthday vouchers/money when it comes to making a large purchase I’ve learnt (from previous impulses) to have a long hard think before parting with a large amount of money, the last thing I would want is to have doubts or regrets about my purchase. I know MK do some amazing coloured bags but I decided to play it safe and stick to black, the timeless classic colour.
The main features that drew me to this particular bag were the compartments, the two zipped ones are perfect to hold more valuable items (mobile phone, purse, iPad etc) and the open middle section if perfect to throw in bits which are easy to access (umbrella, water bottle, makeup bag etc). Like most MK bags there’s a nifty little key clasp attached to the bag, no more rifling/emptying out my bag just to find my keys (always a bonus). There are also smaller pockets sewn into the lining of the bag as well as a inside zipped pocket to pop extra little bits, not that I need to carry anymore than I already do.
The saffiano leather is what gives this bag the structure and quality; it’s a very rigid bag which holds its shape regardless of how much I put in there. The handles are sturdy and are perfect to hold in the crook of your arm, there is also a shoulder strap with adjustable notches but I don’t tend to use it. The gold toned hardware is presented throughout this bag and each button, zip and clasp has ‘Michael Kors’ engraved into it, there is also a ‘MK’ medallion charm hanging from one of the handles which can be removed.
I purchased the bag from House of Fraser and they list it as Michael Kors Jet Set Double Zip Tote Bag but I think it’s more famously known as the Michael Kors Sutton Large Leather Tote. It’s a gorgeous bag which I absolutely love, I’m definitely happy with my purchase and I’m sure this bag will accompany me for many years to come.
