I have never heard of Barbara Daly until I saw photos of products floating around on Instagram. When I read comments and reviews on the product a lot of people said it is a dupe for the By Terry Blackstar Eyeshadow Sticks which are an eye-watering £28 each.
When I did a bit or research and found that the Barbara Daly products are on sale in Tesco I was like ‘WHAT!’ and are on sale for £3 I had to have them. Only problem was when I went to my local Tesco store the stand which literally empty! I’m guessing the word has spread and the products are flying out. My only hope was getting them through the website luckily I found three shades (Shimmer Sand, Shell and Black Marble) and they were on 3 for 2 this was definitely £6 well spent.
The packaging looks expensive the eyeshadows come in a black and clear front casing, the sticks look like they’re made from metal but they’re actually plastic which is no big deal to be honest. To use the product you just twist the stick up and then twist it down to lower it.
The lasting power of these shadows is fab, I have extremely oily skin so naturally my lids tend to slide shadows without a primer but these don’t budge which suits me perfectly. I applied the product straight from the stick and blended it out using my fingers I did find they set quite quickly so my advice is blend quickly. I would also recommend in investing in an oil based eye makeup remover because these shadows will not come off with water or a face wipe!
For the price these are brilliant and I’m going to try and get hold of the Bronze Gold to complete my collection. I haven’t tried the By Terry ones so I can’t make a comparison, to be honest I don’t think I’ll ever try them with the price tag they hold.
All I can say is get yourself down to your local Tesco or go online and get your hands on these I’m sure you won’t regret it.
Have you tried any Barbara Daly products?
