Let me start with a huge confession, this is my first ever makeup purchase from Bourjois so naturally I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m not sure why I haven’t ever bought anything from this brand but after reading countless reviews on the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (£8.99) I had to make a purchase.
Boots and Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 promotion on makeup so I took advantage to try some new makeup bits and bobs. There were two other shades I really wanted but they were out of stock and I didn’t take the shade names down so I couldn’t purchase them online (kicking myself).
I love a long lasting matte lipstick so when I swatched the shade ‘Don’t Pink of It’ (fabulous name) I instantly fell in love, the pretty nude pink shade provides that hint of colour without being too over powering. A shade that can be worn during the day and evening, I’m not one for super bright lipstick so this is a great in between for me.
Although I keep referring to this product as a lipstick it is infact a ‘liquid lipstick’ which is applied like a lipgloss using a doe foot applicator. The product smoothly glides onto the lips like a dream; I tend to apply two coats to create an opaque finish allowing the first coat to dry before applying the next. The longevity, consistency and application of this lipstick are perfect; it is in no way drying in fact it makes my lips feel really moisturised.
I think it’s clear from this review that I’m totally in love with this liquid lipstick and since buying it I’ve worn it pretty much every day. I’m definitely going to pop into Boots/Superdrug again to rekindle my love for the other shades and hope that they have restocked. If you decide to make a purchase I don’t think you’ll be disappointed especially if you’re after a true pink nude shade.
