In 2014 Clinique launched the Cheek Pop powder blushers in four different shades (Peach Pop, Ginger Pop, Plum Pop and Berry Pop) and when I saw them I was well and truly in love but with them being £16.50 each for 3.5g I knew they were going to be wish list items and ones I couldn’t purchase outright at the time.
The stunning gerbera embossed design is what makes these blushers really unusual, the product is cased in a clear plastic compact which is great especially if you have more than one as you can see exactly what shade it is. The colour payoff is incredibly vibrant so my advice is to lightly sweep your brush through the blusher and build the colour up. The formula is quite strange and more of a hybrid as it looks like a cream product both in the compact and on the cheeks but it’s a powder. The silky smooth consistency is also a dream to blend and the staying power is immense, it lasts all day which is perfect for my oily complexion and will be even better if and when we get come warmer weather.
The shade I opted for was Peach Pop; although I was drawn to Berry Pop & Plum Pop I had to steer away from the pink shades and the Clinique Sales Assistant thought Peach Pop was a more suitable shade for my olive complexion, which I have to agree with. Peach Pop is a warm orange/coral shade which provides the perfect amount of natural healthy glow. I’m not a fan of overdone blusher so I apply the smallest amount of product for that ‘barely there’ look.
This is the perfect blusher to pair with a smokey eye or a bold lip, it’s also ideal to wear on a daily basis as it lasts for approximately 8/9 hours before it begins to fade. It is by far the prettiest blusher I own and still have the other three shades on my wish list. I would highly recommend you popping to your nearest Clinque counter to swatch the Cheek Pops I’m sure you will fall in love with at least one shade if not all.
