I’m a huge fan of the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (as you already know) and with my dark circles becoming darker it was only a matter of time before I was going delve into the concealer range.I’ve always used a drugstore concealer, the famous Collection Lasting Perfection which seems to be a holy grail for most people but recently I’ve found that it just isn’t giving me enough coverage, yes my dark circles have got that bad!
Having read copious amounts of reviews on the Double Wear Concealer and seeing how amazing the results were I had to try it for myself. Whilst testing the Double Wear Foundation the Estee Lauder Assistant also swatched the concealer and I was truly gobsmacked, I didn’t have dark circles and my spot scars had vanished. I held off purchasing it there and then knowing that soon Debenhams would have their ‘10% off Beauty’ offer and when they did I had a little splurge and bought more than I intended.
The Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer (£21.50) is definitely full coverage; the formula is thick and creamy but doesn’t feel heavy on the skin however, if applied too thick it will result in caking. I find the best way to apply this concealer is by using the wand to dot small amounts of product in the areas that need extra coverage (under the eyes, scars and blemishes), I then use the Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush to gently buff the product in using circular motions it blends like a dream and can be built up to the desired effect.
I opted for the shade 09 Warm Medium which I think is perfect shade for me and matches up so well with the Double Wear foundation to create a flawless look. The lasting power is amazing, I can go through the entire day (9 hours) without the product budging, I do get slight fading but nothing that requires touching up. The product is also transfer resistant, water, perspiration and humidity resistant and oil free so it will be perfect for the summer and those beach holidays.
If you’re fed up of your dark circles, acne scars or stubborn blemishes this concealer will definitely cover them up, when Estée Lauder says ‘Double Wear’ they really mean it.
