Before I get into today’s post I just want to say sorry for being a bit MIA on the blog, I’ve been super busy over the last two weeks. I’ve felt super guilty for not finding the time to sit down and write something new for you lovelies, but now I’m back and hopefully will continue to keep writing and posting the regular three posts a week.
If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I have been making the most of the Boots 3 for 2 promotion and the usual lunchtime browses have resulted in a few sneaky purchases. Amongst them was the L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base (£7.99) which is a brand new product which has been released alongside the Infallible 24-Matte which to be honest I’ve really struggled to match a shade anywhere near my skin tone. When I hear of a mattifying product release my ears instantly perk up and I can’t wait to give it a go.
If you’re a regular reader of GlitZeeGlam you will know that I suffer from extremely oily skin so to improve the longevity of my makeup I have to wear a primer for me it’s probably one of the most important steps in my daily make up routine. During the week I usually apply my makeup at 7:30am and don’t take it off until about 7pm so I have very high expectations in terms of lasting power.
As with most primers this one also comes in a squeezy tube which makes it easy to release the right amount of product and avoids wastage. The silicone formula is quite thick but not gloopy once rubbed in-between the fingers and applied to the face it provides a really velvety smooth finish which is incredibly light on the skin and provides the perfect base for foundation. I have been using it for just under a week and I can without doubt tell you it’s probably one of the best drugstore primers I have come across.
The L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base is very similar to the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (£25.00) but comes in at a third of the price; I’m all about drugstore alternatives especially if it saves you a considerable amount of pennies. If you have oily skin or just want to prepare your skin for the glorious warmer weather than I would highly recommend you giving this product a try.
Have you tried L’Oreal Mattifying Primer?
