I have never been a fan of lip liner I’ve always found them too drying on the lips but recently they seem to be my new found obsession. I wear lipstick on a daily basis and the worse thing for me is the lack of staying power, I’m really not one to reapply my lipstick countless times during the day so longevity for me is a must.
Having read countless blog posts bloggers have said that to increase the staying power of their lipstick they apply a liner first to the entire top and bottom lip and then apply their lipstick on top. I thought I would give this method a go and with Boots having their recent 3 for 2 promotions I thought it was about time I delved into lip liners. Most of my Boots visits consist of a million and one products swatched all over the backs of my hands but unfortunately Boots don’t stock lip liner testers so the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liners (£4.99) were purely bought on a whim with the hope that they would be the perfect brown/nude shades that I was after.
This particular range of lip liners comes in six different shades and for £4.99 I’m super impressed with their price point and their quality. The packaging is simple yet sophisticated; it comes across as a more luxurious brand compared to other high street lip liner brands. The clear lids are also perfect as you can see exactly what shade the liner is without having to pop the lid off, the colour is also around the end of the liner which I really like.
I picked up the shades Pink Princess and Brown and Nude, I wanted shades that were natural and the ‘my lips but better’ shades and these certainly are on point with my requirements. Pink Princess is a soft pink shade which is perfect to wear during the day or evening. Brown and Nude is definitely a ‘my lips but better’ shade and it’s one that I have been wearing every day since I purchased it, I’m totally in love with the formulas. Their so creamy and don’t drag n the lips at all, I tend to apply the Blistex Balm and let it sit for a few minutes before applying the liner.
The staying power is amazing and I don’t ever have to reapply it throughout the day. I would definitely recommend you giving these a swatch on your next Boots trip I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
