Since becoming a mummy my makeup routine has changed a hell of a lot. In fact I’ve minimised so much on products because I rarely have more than 10/15 minutes to make myself look remotely decent. I thought today I would share my holy grail mummy products. I should point out that I have incredibly oily skin so the products I use are all in line with my skin type. Today I thought I would share my everyday mummy makeup routine with you all.
Let’s start with the base, I have to wear a primer otherwise I’ll end up looking like a shiny mess within a couple of hours. My go to primer has to be the Estée Lauder Shine Control Perfecting Primer (£26.00) it’s simply amazing in creating a silky-smooth canvas for makeup application by controlling oil and reducing shine for a healthy-looking finish. I then go in with a couple of pumps of the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (£33.50) which is a high coverage foundation it conceals all my imperfections without me looking cakey, I love it! However, I really struggle with getting a ‘perfect’ colour match when it comes to foundation so although the closest match is 4W1 Honey Bronze I have to add a couple of drops of The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops (£11.00) to get my ‘perfect’ shade. These drops are a god send, it means you know longer have to waste an entire bottle of foundation and instead can use the Adjusting Drops to get the desired shade.
I then move onto my eyes, again I have to go in with a primer and my ultimate holy grail primer has to be the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (£17.50) I then use the Urban Decay Naked Palette (£39.50) is my all time favourite eyeshadow palette. As you can tell it’s well loved and thoroughly used, my go to shade at the moment has to be ‘Toasted’ it’s subtle with a little shimmer. I then go in with ‘Buck’ to blend out my eyelid crease. I then put on a bit of mascara, the one I’ve been loving at the moment is the Soap and Glory Thick & Fast HD Mascara (£10.50) (full review). Ordinarily I would apply a liquid eyeliner but these days it’s quicker to skip this and not have to worry if my wings are sisters or twins.
Then it’s time to add a bit of colour onto my cheeks using the Mac Shimmer Powder Blush (£19.50) in Trace Gold. I’ve used this blusher since I was at university (
a long time a go) and I still use it to this day. It’s so subtle but makes me look so put together. I quickly go in with the Maybelline Brow Drama (£5.99) (full review) to comb through my brows and give them some oomph because I have really light brows. The ling wearing formula doesn’t streak, clump or flake. It really is my brows best friend and so effortless to use.
Lastly I finish my look with the Vichy Dermablend Translucent Setting Powder (£18.00) (full review) this product is my added security that my makeup is going to stay put all day. And there you have it guys my everyday mummy makeup routine. I think I’ve finally perfected it and it just works so well for me. Mornings are a nightmare and the last thing I want to do with an 18 month old is be spending a long time on my makeup.
