When Soap and Glory released their brand in Boots I was all over it but somehow over the years I haven’t been purchasing their products as much (no real explanation for this). However, in the Boots 70% sale I picked up the Winter Wonder Glam Gift Set which included the Thick & Fast High Definition Collagen Coat Mascara (£10.50), the packaging has certainly has a re-vamp since I last used this product (2014) and in my opinion it looks a lot more aesthetically pleasing.
I’ve never done a full review of the mascara and since I’ve been using it so much lately I thought I’d share my honest opinion. When it comes to mascara I don’t tend to stick to one brand religiously and tend to chop and change between high-end and high-street.
Having used this mascara for a good few weeks I can honestly say that it could most definitely rival some of the high end brands I’ve previously used. This mascara adds some serious volume and lengthens my lashes beautifully and on many occasions I’ve been asked if I’m wearing false lashes, to me this is a serious compliment as I have super short and light lashes, pretty much non-existent.
The secret to creating such intensity is ultimately down to the wand, the brush has a seven sided fan flare with a v-groove to create the volume. The comb wraps the lashes from root to tip to create to give each lash definition and drama and the collagen feature helps to strengthen and build the lashes. The only thing to point out is the brush does deposit a lot of product which may result in lashes feeling clumpy. I tend to start at the root and gently move the wand side to side working towards the tip of the lashes.
I think the Soap and Glory Thick & Fast Mascara may actually be one of my favourites and I’m so glad I re-discovered it. Its most definitely become a staple product in my makeup bag. I love love love it and will continue to repurchase it for as long as Soap and Glory make it (lets hope that’s forever).
