Supercat™ Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen| Review

Supercat™ Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen| ReviewEyeliner is a staple make up product which I wear on a daily basis; my lovely friends gave me this Soap and Glory SuperCat Eyeliner Pen as part of my birthday present. I’ve read so many reviews on this product and it’s one that I’ve wanted to try for a while, I guess my friends know me too well or I’ve banged on about this a lot more than I thought!

I was excited to see if it was going to live up to my expectations as I tend to favour pen/felt tip style eyeliners a lot more purely because of their ease of use. They’re also a lot easier to create a cat flick although I’m still perfecting this skill. As always Soap and Glory never fail with their gorgeous girly packaging it just makes products look so much more inviting. The eyeliner is housed in a compact box with instructions on how to use it on the back.Supercat™ Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen| ReviewSupercat™ Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen| ReviewSupercat™ Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen| Review

The tip is firm which helps to create both a bold thick line as well as a more wearable thin line. I prefer to use these types of liners in one full sweep rather than smaller strokes as I feel it achieves a better result, the liner also applies smoothly without dragging on the eyelids. There are a couple of things which I felt let this product down, the first is the pigmentation although the product comes out very black onto the eyelids it dries with a grey tinge so I have to make two applications. The second is throughout the day the product does smudge and end up transferring onto the tops of my eyelids, this isn’t a great look! I have excessively oily skin so this may be a contributing factor I don’t really know.

I did want to fall in love with the eyeliner but for me my eye makeup has to be long lasting (at least 8hrs) and this eyeliner pen didn’t quite cut it. I will carry on using it as I wouldn’t want the product to go to waste and I very much appreciate my friends buying this for me. Ending on a more positive note the Supercat™ Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen retails for £6 which I think is good value for money (despite its slight flaws) especially if you’re a newbie to this style of eyeliner or want something to speed up your make up routine.

This is honestly one of my favourite eyeliners. I wear it nearly every day! It is a shame you didn’t get on with it as well. Have you tried using a primer underneath to make it last longer? Also to try and get it to come out darker, keep it standing with the nib down when you’re not using it. Hopefully that will help! x

I had really high expectations of this eyeliner purely because I love Soap and Glory products and I read a lot of positive reviews. I use a primer on my eyelids on a daily basis; I have to with having oily skin. Thank you for the tip about storing it, I’ll definitely try this. I didn’t completely dislike this product for me it’s really important that my makeup lasts x x
