Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

‘Urban Decay’s first MATTE palette, featuring six gorgeously Naked neutrals to build on or wear alone – including four never-before-seen shades.’

I love eye shadow palettes especially the ones from Urban Decay, they are versatile and great for everyday wear. The packaging is simple but sturdy; it is compact which is a huge plus. It would be great for travelling or carrying around in your ‘on the go’ make up bags.

This is a perfect palette for those of you who prefer to wear more neutral shades. The palette consists of six full size eye shadows five of which are completely matte and one which has a slight shimmer to it. They are all extremely pigmented; I wouldn’t expect any less from Urban Decay.

The shadows blend nicely and are buildable they will last all day especially when used with the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I tend to use this palette alongside my Naked 1 palette to create more intense and dramatic eye looks especially for the evening. The lighter colours in the palette are great for highlighting or for using as base. Unlike most matt eye shadows these are not chalky or powdery in any way.

I purchased my palette from Debenhams for £18 (RRP £20) when they had their 10% Beauty Event but even for £20 this is a bargain. I don’t use this as much as I should; I need to find a new way of displaying my eye shadow palettes on my dressing table rather than storing them in a drawer this will make them easier to reach and will also remind me to use them!

Overall I don’t think you can go wrong with owning one of these palettes, the sleek compact case and luxurious finish shadows make it irresistible to own and if you already own the Naked palettes then this is an added extra to enhance your collection.

Have you tried any of the Urban Decay palettes? Which one do you like best?

I’m started to love my Vice 2 palette more since looking at ideas and blending different colours, I have really narrow lids so I struggle with colours that are dark and matte, the more glitter and sheen the better!

I haven’t managed to get my hands on the Vice 2 palette but I’ve heard fab things about it. The Naked Basics palette is great to use as base shadows or as a transitional colour for your crease x x
