Vichy products have been raved about by numerous bloggers and YouTubers, it is a premium brand known for their
skincare, make up and anti-aging products and one that is used by dermatologists worldwide. It is also a brand which I didn’t take much notice of until quite recently.
I’ve been looking for a translucent setting powder to keep my excessive oilyness at bay and one that will make my make-up last longer. I’m not one for touching up my make up throughout the day, in fact I don’t carry any make up products around with me unless I’m attending a function or a special event and I know I’m going to be out for longer than normal. So I have high expectations for setting powders as once applied I expect them to lock in my makeup and leave me looking matte for the majority of the day (9-12 hours approx). Having read numerous reviews on the Vichy Dermablend Translucent Setting Powder and with 25% off in Boots I made the plunge.
The powder is white in colour but applies completely transparent so there’s no worry of your foundation shade being altered. It is super light weight and doesn’t settle into any lines in fact it minimises the appearance of any fine lines/imperfections which is always an added bonus. I tend to sprinkle a little into the lid and swirl my Real Techniques powder brush into the product and dust the excess off against the side of the lid before applying. I advise only sprinkling small amounts of product at a time into the lid to prevent wastage, I should also point out that a little product goes a long way.
It comes with a powder puff which I tend to use when I’m going to a function as it applies heavy amounts of the product which I let sit on the skin for a couple of minutes before dusting off the excess with my powder brush. This method really works to keep your make up looking flawless and shine free for the entire day.
The product retails for £15 but I snapped it up for £11.25, it is on the pricey side for a setting powder but for the results it gives it is worth every penny, this product is amazing! I’m not sure if it’s a bold statement to make but this may possibly be my new Holy Grail setting powder.
