As a parent especially a first time parent it’s so overwhelming when having to buy any baby related product. So I tend to be that mummy that scours the internet for recommendations along with asking my ‘mummy friends’ what products they would recommend. One of the barrier creams that came top was the Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment (£3.00).
Babies tend to be vulnerable to developing nappy rashes due to how sensitive their skin is. Unfortunately Leila has been less fortunate when it comes to nappy rashes and seems to develop a rash almost instantly if I don’t apply a barrier cream on a daily basis. The priority for me is to ensure I do whatever I can to prevent a rash occurring or re-occurring.
Bepanthen has created a tailored formula to help protect the vulnerable skin of young babies with an ointment that is so gentle and breathable that it can be used at every nappy chance to help the most delicate skin. It is free from fragrance, preservatives, colorants and antiseptics. Bepanthen works by forming a transparent layer protecting even the most delicate skin from irritants and rubbing. The water-in-oil formulation keeps the skin healthy and hydrated, which is essential to maintain its natural protective barrier.
The easy-to-use tube is perfect for administering the ointment one handed especially if you’ve got a super wriggly monkey like mine. I apply a thin layer of the ointment to a clean, dry bottom after each nappy change. The non-sticky formula is great especially at bedtime when the nappy is usually on for the longest time.
I recently picked up a box set in Boots with came with Elliott the elephant, how adorable is he? I’m not sure if it is still available as I couldn’t find it online, sorry! Overall I’m very happy with this barrier cream and I would definitely recommend it to those of you who have little ones that are more susceptible to getting a nappy rash, it’s worked wonders for Leila.
Have you used the Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment?
