The want for a ‘proper’ camera came long before I started blogging, but since blogging the want started to turn into a need and I found myself spending hours browsing for the perfect and most affordable camera.
I’ve been using my iPad mini to take blog photos for the last four months as well as general day to day leisurely photos. It has served me well and I’ve managed to take some great photos, but it only works well in day time more so when it’s a really bright day. As you may have guessed we don’t have many of them days in England.
After months of research and asking fellow bloggers questions on what camera they would recommend I made the decision to splash out on this little beauty, the Nikon 1 J2! I’ve got a slight obsession for white gadgets so when I came across this one and read great reviews on its features it was a no brainer, it was going to be mine!
It also had to be compact but still function like a DSLR and a camera that was going to be easy to use as well as practical enough to travel with. When I’m attending blogger events or taking trips way I really don’t want to be lugging around a heavy camera. The Nikon 1 J2 is pretty much everything I’ve been looking for, a slim build, interchangeable lenses and a built in flash. The only downside is the camera has no wifi but I don’t know how much of a problem this really is, I’m sure I’ll soon find out.
I’m by no means a camera or photography genius (far from it) this purchase is definitely going to be a learning curve but I’m excited to experiment with it’s many features.
The photos you will see in future on the blog will most definitley be taken with my new gadget, I will still use my iPad mini and iPhone for Instagram photos etc but on the whole I will be using the Nikon to its full potential.
If any of you already have this camera and care to share some hint, tips or advice then please feel free to use the comments section below.
