This is my first products empties post, I’ve used up quite a lot of products over the last few months and been training my brain to put them into my pink basket rather than the bin! I’ve sort of split the products into four categories; Skincare, Fragrance, Make Up and Shower/Body. I’ll give you a quick rundown on my final thoughts for each product and let you know whether or not I would repurchase them.
Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean – Is great if you get lazy with removing your make-up at the end of the day or if you’re one of those people who are so knackered at the end of the day that you end up sleeping in your make-up! It is a 3 in 1 facial cleanser which has a thick milk/creamy consistency. As expected it smells super fresh and peachy. I like this cleanser for removing and melting away my make-up but I haven’t seen it make any changes to my T-Zone.
Would I repurchase? – This is the second bottle I’ve gone through only because I wanted to give it a second chance, as much as I love the ease of use and the scent I don’t think I would repurchase it.
No7 Beautiful Skin Purifying Mask (Normal/Oily) – I love face masks and get sucked in to trying new ones all the time. I had a £5 No7 skincare voucher so I thought I’d give this one a go. I have quite blemish prone skin and the No7 assistant recommended this one as it is a thermal mask that ‘heats on contact with water to open pores and draw out impurities. As you rinse, it tightens pores to leave skin feeling refreshed, healthy looking and incredibly clean. ’ It was very gritty and a lot more abrasive than I would have liked in a mask, I found the heat quite uncomfortable to deal with and couldn’t wait to get the mask off. However, my skin did feel really soft, smooth and clean once I managed to rinse it off. I wasn’t happy with this purchase but didn’t want the product to go to waste so I did use it all up.
Would I repurchase? – No
L’Oreal Paris New Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution – I’m sure you’re all fed up of reading about micellar solutions so I will keep this short. I discovered this product through Instagram and thought I’d join the hype. I never used a micellar water before so I had nothing to compare this to at the time and to be honest it didn’t wow me. The way the product dispenses is a bit annoying as most of the product ends up on my carpet; I think the hole needs to be a lot smaller. It did remove my make up with two wipes but I still felt like I needed to use a face wash to get a deeper clean. It was gentle on the skin and the alcohol free formula prevented my skin from drying up. I did use the bottle up, but I’ve now moved onto the next hype (Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water) and to be honest I do prefer it.
Would I repurchase? – Yes if I couldn’t get hold of the Garnier one
L’Oreal Triple Active Anti-Shine Mattifying Hydrating Moisturiser – I’ve done an in-depth review on this product which you can read here but what I would like to say is I’m still really happy with this moistutiser and coming to the end of my second tub. I have extremely oily skin but using this moisturiser reduces the amount of grease build up on my skin and keeps my make up lasting a lot longer.
Would I repurchase? – Yes definitely! This is my new Holy Grail face moisturiser
Boots Cotton Wool Double Faced Round Pads – I had to add this product in my empties even if it is slightly strange after all what skincare regime is complete without cotton wool? I’ve used a variety of cotton wool brands and they always seemed to fall apart with one wipe and fleece which was so annoying. So when I went on my ‘browse’ into Boots a couple of month ago these caught my eye, they’re a better quality pad and much tougher. They have two different textured surfaces which are ideal for both face and nails. The light textured side is ideal for applying cleansers and the compact side is ideal for applying toners. I love these cotton pads and will not be going back to cheaper brands, saying that these are often on offer and not that much more than your regular cotton pads.
Would I repurchase? – Hell yeh! I love these and have already repurchased a travel size pack and the larger cotton pads.
Zara Woman Perfumes: Apple Juice (100ml) – If you’ve read my previous post on Zara Woman Perfumes you will know how much I love them. Apple Juice is my all time favourite scent, it has a fresh fruity scent but if you’re a bit technical on scents (which I’m certainly not) then the tops notes are apple and grapefruit; middle note is rose; base note is musk. For £9.99 this perfume is a complete bargain and the lasting power is fab. I’ve had numerous amounts of compliments when I wear this perfume and when I mention it’s from Zara people tend to have a shocked look on their face. I’ve also filled my Travalo with Apple Juice so I can spritz it on the go.
Would I repurchase? – Since first buying this perfume I’m now on my 5th bottle and I will continue to repurchase it.
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation (‘I’m All the Rage’ Beige) – I’ve been using this foundation for just over a year and repurchased it numerous times. Matching foundation shades for my skin tone is a pain and I hate doing it so I’ve stuck to this shade and not really ventured out much. It is easy to apply and buffs well into the skin providing great coverage without feeling heavy, a little product goes a long way. The foundation is buildable without becoming cakey on the skin. The only flaw I find with this product is it does make me quite shiny even though I use a primer and set my foundation with a powder. It does claim to be oil free but my skin doesn’t seem to be agreeing with it anymore and I’m not too sure why. I am almost out of my repurchase so unfortunately I may have to look for an alternative even though I’ve loved this for so long.
Would I repurchase? – If it didn’t make my skin so shiny I would definitely repurchase this product, but I think it’s time to give something else a go.
Soap and Glory Clean on Me – Yes I admit I’m a bit of a Soap and Glory lover but who isn’t? I always stock up on their Christmas gift sets which then last me the entire year! Clean on Me is my all time favourite shower gel and the smell is just amazing and lingers all day, a little product goes a long way. It has a very rich formula which helps to keep my skin moisturised and silky smooth.
Would I repurchase? – I’ve repurchased this a handful of times; I’ve even gone through countless miniature versions which is a travel essential for me.
Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter – I’ve already repurchased this multiple times, paired with the shower gel this definitely helps the scent to last a lot longer. It’s increasingly moisturising and feels so luxurious on the skin. My only niggle is that the cream takes a while to soak into the skin so when I apply it onto my legs and put my jeans on it feels quite sticky but this soon passes. I love this body butter and don’t think I’ll ever stop using it.
Would I repurchase? – Most definitely!
That’s all my product empties for this month, apologies for it being longer than expected but I hope you’ve enjoyed a slightly different post from me today.
