I recently ran out of my No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Normal / Oily Skin which I’ve been using for over a year. Having repurchased this product a few time I started to feel it wasn’t helping to keep my skin matte. So I was on the hunt for something new and whilst browsing in a mahoosive supermarket down South I spotted this L’Oreal Triple Active Anti-Shine Mattifying Hydrating Moisturiser. The name is a mouthful! When I see products that say ‘anti-shine’ ‘oil free’ etc I get sucked in and want to give them a go. I have super oily skin (as you may know from previous posts) and it becomes a bit of a battle to cope with day in day out so I’m always on the prowl for a product that is going to keep me matte/shine free for most of the day (if not all).
I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks, on first impressions it gets the thumbs up from me. The cream is slightly fragranced but I can’t put my finger on the actual scent however it’s quite a nice smell. This is unusual for day creams as they are usually fragrant free.
The packaging looks and feels very expensive as the container is glass, when you unscrew the lid it has a top which you lift off to get to the product.
The texture of the product is quite thick, more of a lotion consistency rather than a runny cream which again is slightly unusual. I used a small amount which covered my whole face, it spreads well and I could instantly feel my skin soaking the cream up. It definitely keeps my skin grease and shine free. Even though my face is greasy it is also quite sensitive and sometimes new products can break me out but this was fine it didn’t give me any spots or patches of redness.
L’Oreal describes this product as having triple action functions:
1. Hydrates 8 HR
Enriched with glycerol, the formula helps the skin retain an optimal hydration level for 8 hours.
Infused with salicylic acid to help stimulate the natural skin surface exfoliation for softer, smoother skin. Pores appear less visible
Enriched with an anti-shine complex containing Perlite to absorb surface shine and sebum for a long-lasting mattifying effect.
If you suffer from greasy/shiny skin then this product is worth a shot especially. The moisturiser seems to be long lasting and is suitable for combination to oily skin.
