The UK is finally getting some lovely weather and as a result my sweat glands seem to have taken a great disliking to the warmer weather! As a result I have had to up my game with staying dry and protected from those dreaded sweat patches. I’ve seen a far few bloggers rave about the Mitchum brand but for some unknown reason I’ve stayed true to the brand of deodorant I’ve used forever. However, it just doesn’t seem to be cutting it these days and it was truly time for a change.
I’m usually more of a spray deodorant girl but as I was going through the different Mitchum products I came across the Mitchum Ultimate Unscented Gel Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant (£4.99) which I must admit is a lot more pricier than my usual deodorant but having read the ’48hr Protection’ I was intrigued and wanted to put it to the test.
The product goes on clear and although it claims to ‘dry quickly‘ you do need to wait a couple of minutes as it does still feel slightly wet if you don’t. It definitely hits the mark in terms of leaving ‘no white marks‘ and my god does it protect! This deodorant is incredible, it almost feels like there’s a layer in between the skin and deodorant where it completely blocks the sweat glands. Although, I have to say it’s a bit of a mission to scrub off in the shower but I’m happy to spend that extra time scrubbing my underarms if I’m going to stay dry and protected for the entire day and night.
Mitchum does recommend using the product ‘before going to bed‘ as the formula ‘works to provide long-lasting protection that will last throughout the next day, even after showering.’ However, I think by applying it the morning after a shower you are definitely protected for 48hrs. I guess it all depends if you’re a morning or evening shower/bath person.
This is definitely one of those products that does what it says, I would quite happily keep on repurchasing it. I know £4.99 seems a lot for a deodorant but if you’re anything like me and hate sweating and always have the fear that you’re going to stink of BO then this is hands down the deodorant you want to be using.
