I have been using the Clarisonic for just over three months now and it’s was about time I shared my experience with you all. As some of you may have read in my Clarisonic Unboxing Post I won this little beauty at the North West Bloggers Event back in March and have been using it since. This is a gadget which gets talked about a hell of a lot in the beauty/skincare world and let’s be honest it holds quite a hefty price tag too (£155) and one that a lot of people may be reluctant to invest in. I’m hoping this post will shed some light on my experience and help you to make a decision if you are umming and ahing in making a purchase.
What is the Clarisonic?
If you’ve never heard of the Clarisonic it is a handheld cleansing system which uses sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second. It works with the skins natural elasticity to thoroughly remove impurities. The Aria has a three speed function (delicate, universal and powerful), an adjustable timer and a USB enabled universal charger. The battery life of the device is brilliant and will last up to a week or longer if only used once per day. Most if not all Clarisonics come with interchangeable facial brush heads which also have a varied level of bristles to suit your skin type or exfoliation preference and the best thing of all is the gadget is completely waterproof so it is perfect to use and leave in your shower without fearing you will get water in the nooks and crannies!
I was amazed at how quickly I could see the effects of the Clarisonic, it made my skin feel uber clean and super soft. I started off using it twice a day (morning and night) after a couple of weeks I started having a break out and I wasn’t sure if this was because of the Clarisonic Face Wash or the actual Clarisonic device. So I decided to stop using the face wash and continue using the Clarisonic with my usual face wash (L’Oreal ….) but I was still breaking out. This could have only meant one thing the Clarisonic was breaking me out; this wasn’t going to put me off so I read up on some reviews and watched a few YouTube videos and found that I wasn’t alone in breaking out and the best thing to do was to switch to only using it once a day or even every other day. This definitely helped to reduce the break out and within a couple of weeks my skin restored to somewhat of a normal state. Personally I think the breakouts were largely due to my face receiving an intense exfoliation which it wasn’t used to and using this twice a day sent my skin into a panic. BUT I remained patient and persistent!
Now that I’ve come to the three month stage with the Clarisonic I am really happy with the results. I don’t think this nifty gadget will ever leave my skincare routine, if I wasn’t lucky enough to win this at the event I think it would be on a wishlist. I wish I took before and after photos of my face to show you the photographic evidence but I didn’t think of it at the time. I have definitely seen a positive difference in my skin and what I will say is you know your skin better than anyone so if you do find your breaking out or getting irritable skin as a result of the Clarisonic then you will know to either limit the usage or use products that are going to help eliminate the breakouts. Do what your instinct tells you!
I know it’s a big investment to make purchasing a Clarisonic but I would recommend this device to each and every one of you it has worked wonders for me and I’m sure it will do the same for you. I hope this review has given you an insight into my experience, if you do have any questions leave them in the comments section below and I will do my best to answer them.
