I’ve always been happy removing my make up with a wipe or liquid based make up remover. However, recently there has been a huge hype around cleansing balms and I wanted in on the excitement.I did a little browsing of the trusted interweb and found that cleansing balms can be somewhat on the pricey side. I then came across the The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter and was instantly drawn to the price tag of £12 but when I went in store to make a purchase they had 40% off so I only paid £7.20 (#bargain).
The product comes in a 90ml tin and when opened the product is solid however when you scoop your fingers in and start to massage it into the skin it becomes an oily consistency and this is when the magic begins! You will see your make up gently melting away; it is even gentle enough to break down eye makeup, I should point out a little product goes a long way.
Once I’ve applied the cleansing butter I take a face cloth and use gentle circular motions to slightly exfoliate my face before rinsing the product off with warm water. I haven’t had to use an additional make up remover as this beauty removes every bit of my makeup; it’s a genius product and a super quick way to remove your makeup in once step. The light floral scent is also really calming especially when used at night; it makes you feel really relaxed and ready for bed!
I have excessively oily skin but was assured by the assistant in store that it would help balance the oils rather than make me oilier; I have to admit she was spot on. I have fallen in love with this product and it is most definitely going into my ‘holy grail’ pile.
If you’re a newbie to cleansing butters/balms and you don’t want to break your bank balance then I would most certainly recommend you giving this Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter a go, I’ve also heard it’s a great alternative to the Clinique Take The Day off Cleansing Balm which retails at £22.
