A few weeks ago I made a sneaky purchase whilst at The Body Shop blogger event, I was being really good and sensible until I spotted this product and thought ‘hmmm I need that.’
As you may well know I am super unfortunate and have excessively oily skin which is also prone to blemishes and large visible pores, a triple whammy! Having read what the Tea Tree Pore Minimiser does it was a no brainer to try it. This tiny tube of goodness claims to ‘minimise the appearance of pores, matifies for a shine-free finish and leaves the skin feeling fresh’ but does it really work?
The packaging follows suit of all the tea tree range and is nothing fancy but the simple design allows for an effortless squeeze to release the product. and with it being plastic it is a great travelling companion. The consistency of the product is light weight and more of a serum which has a slight silicone texture to it but this in no way makes the product heavy on the skin, in fact it is quite the opposite.
It does carry a strong Tea Tree scent which I personally love, it smells hygenic and fresh, but once applied the scent does start to fade. I apply the product after I’ve allowed my moisturiser to sink into my skin; I use this all over the face it quickly disappears and instantly makes my skin feel fresh, clean and most importantly provides a matte base for make-up application.
Tea Tree is an essential oil which is often used in low concentrations within cosmetics and skin washes. It acts as a natural antiseptic which is known to kill bacteria and germs, it does slightly leave a tingling sensation when applied but doesn’t sting or burn. It is a great primer especially for oily or blemish prone skin, having said that I don’t know if those of you with normal or dry skin would benefit from it as it does make parts of your face quite dry however if you have an oily T-Zone or oily areas it would work well just in those areas.
For £7.50 you get a 30ml tube which will go a long way, you only need a small amount to cover an entire face so if you’re using it on selected areas it will definitely last a lot longer. I have noticed the reduction of visible pores as well as reduced amounts of blackheads and spots. It also keeps me matte for at least 8 hours which is perfect for me, so for these reasons this product gets big thumbs up from me!
