Most often than not I would describe myself as being happy and content with my life as a single mum, in fact over the last two years I’ve learnt to embrace it and now find myself in good place. Since uploading my last post on ‘Our First Holiday to Turkey‘ I’ve had a fair few people message me asking if I can do a ‘Travel Tips’ post when travelling with a Toddler. Clearly I’m no expert on this topic area but I’ll share what worked for us whilst travelling to Turkey. I think one of the main reasons I put off travelling with Leila sooner was due to the nightmare stories I either heard or read about.
I also kept telling myself she was too young to go abroad and it might be best to wait until she’s older. But I took the plunge and realised with careful planning and preparation most dilemmas could be avoided and in turn it should be a fun and exciting experience. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I booked an incredibly last-minute holiday. Usually I’m very much a forward planner but that didn’t happen this time, I really needed a break I haven’t been on holiday for two years and after everything I’ve been through I just needed to get away. I booked the holiday on Sunday 24thJune and we flew out on Wednesday 27thJune so as you can imagine I was running around like a crazy person to get things bought, packed and sorted. (more…)
